Aquarium Ammonia levels Can Be Controlled With Fish Tank Maintenance

Properly controlling the aquarium ammonia levels can be controlled with proper fish tank maintenance.   Here are some simple steps to follow to make sure your tank is a healthy environment for your underwater creatures.

Step 1

Keep ammonia levels low with regular maintenance. Test regularly.

Step 2

Monitor and record the habits of the aquarium’s inhabitants. If something dies, remove it.

Step 3

Avoid overfeeding, uneaten food decays and produces ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. More food equals more waste that produces ammonia .

Step 4

Remove dying plants, they produce ammonia.

Step 5

Clean your aquarium regularly with an algae pad and by vacuuming it with a siphon and your livestock will live healthy in a toxic free habitat.

If you follow these simple steps you will control the levels of aquarium ammonia and by practicing fish tank maintenance, you will provide the best environment possible for your tank.
